Testimonials
“Coby’s masterclass was wonderfully informative and inspiring for our students and faculty. He was able to articulate his journey from college days to a successful Broadway career with clarity, authenticity, humor, and humility. His knowledge about “the business” from an actor’s point of view is up-to-the-minute and state-of-the-art; his passion for the work is tangible, and his steadfast optimism mixed with down-to-earth pragmatism is so refreshing. He gave our students a renewed sense of hope and determination about their futures post-graduation.”
- Jeremy Mann, Director of Singing, The Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program, UCLA
“To say that we’re grateful for Coby would be an understatement. My son absolutely loves his lessons—it’s his favorite part of the week! Coby has helped him grow so much, both in skill and confidence. Auditions feel easier now, and his love for acting has only deepened. We can’t thank Coby enough for the encouragement and joy he brings to every lesson.
- Meggie Rackenberg, Parent of client Max Rackenberg, star of Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway and The Better Sister on Amazon Prime
“Coby worked with our high school chorus students in a ‘Storytelling Through Song’ workshop. From the moment he arrived, it felt as though we were welcoming an old friend. He was instantly warm, curious, and attentive, creating an atmosphere where students felt comfortable and confident. After sharing a bit about his background and taking questions, Coby worked one-on-one with our singers, listening to their pieces and guiding them to break down both the lyrics and the music. He encouraged each student to slow down, explore the meaning behind every line, and consider the emotional journey of the song as a whole. His ability to connect the technical aspects of singing with the emotional power of storytelling left students with a deeper understanding of their pieces and new tools to apply in future creative work.”
- Megan Cramer, Director of Fine Arts, The Galloway School, Atlanta, GA
“Coby has an incredible gift for helping Rocco open up and feel truly free and confident to really go for it in his auditions. From the moment he started working with him, Rocco gained so much more professional traction and ultimately landed his current role as Gavroche in the North American Tour of Les Misérables! What makes Coby truly special is his ability to meet Rocco exactly where he's at and keep the work centered on the joy of it all. His intuitive and thoughtful approach is the perfect match for our son and his training. We feel so fortunate to work with Coby!”
- Camille Van Auken, Parent of client Rocco Van Auken, currently playing Gavroche in the national tour of Les Misérables and former star of Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway.
"Through Coby's coaching, the students gained a deeper understanding of each lyric of their song. As a result, their final performances were more grounded, more specifically from the character's viewpoint, and more emotionally connected."
- Matt Huff, Associate Professor and Theatre Coordinator, Oglethorpe University
“Ever since I started working with Coby, I feel like I've grown so much. Every lesson, we work on different scenes or songs from the show I am in. He also has helped me with so many auditions and callbacks, and I could not be more grateful!”
- Courtney Clinton, client, currently playing Cinderella in Into the Woods at Palos Verdes High School
